The Quest was written in 2015 while I was taking part in a training led by Sal Gencarelle who my wife Marina had invited over to the UK to run courses in Native American spiritual practises.

In this lineage of the Lakota Sioux people, a Vision Quest involves 4 nights alone in the wilderness with no food and no water but we were offered the chance to do this for 1 night in the woods of Sussex. I persuaded Sal that I wanted to ask for help to write a piece of music so I went far away from everyone else and took my guitar with me.

In the morning as I tended my fire, The Quest emerged as a composition which I then finished back at home.
